This is another photo of my great grandmother, Sarah (Sally) Faucett and her only daughter Blanche Elmina who only lived about 7 months. I love this picture of Gr Grandma Sally. Blanche is buried in the Manassa Cemetery, outside of Manassa, Colorado. I shared another picture of her and the cemetery where she is buried HERE.

Such a wonderful photo but so sad knowing the baby isn't going to live long.
I bet she wasn't wearing a lick of makeup, yet she is beautiful. And look at those puffed sleeves. You know they were fun to iron.
I don't want to be morbid, but little Elmina doesn't look much more than 7 months old in this photo. Also, Sally is so dressed up, but looks so serious. Her image is in sharp focus, but Elmina's not as much. Is it possible this was a mourning photo taken when the baby passed away?
it is great you at least have a picture of Blanche Elmina.
Wonderful photo. Good you have a photo of Elmina.
It is sad. It also makes me sad knowing she was their only girl.
I've always loved this picture of my great grandmother. I recently read what was involved doing laundry back then. Oh my! And I thought I hated laundry now.
Linda I've often thought that Elmina doesn't look quite right. I have never been able to put my finger on it, but something about her in this picture just doesn't seem quite right to me, so maybe that's it. I'm just not sure.
I am so grateful to have the picture of both Elmina who died at 7 months and my great grandmother, Sally Faucett Ganus who died when she was just 45 years old.
I am so glad to have this photo of the two of them.
I was thinking the same thing as Linda and was going to ask if you knew how old the baby was.
